Two Teaser Trailer, Conventions

In this post I will be looking at two different teaser trailers from two different genres. One of my teaser trailers I will be looking at is the official teaser trailer from the super hero movie "The Dark Knight Rises". The second teaser trailer I will be looking at "Jojo Rabbit" which fits into the comedy genre.

The Dark Knight Rises

Conventions for this teaser trailer:

• Warner Bros, Pictures. Company logo
• Legendary pictures. Company logo
• Tag line, split into different sections of the trailer
• Voice over/ Narration 
• Use of old shots that were used in the previous movie
• Establishing shot, also includes protagonist in rags
• Directors name
• Suspenseful music
• Short protagonist montage scene
• Quick/short introduction of antagonist
• Movie Title
• Quick editing
• Small reveal of important fight scene in the movie (intrigues audience)
• Release date 
• Credit/Billing
• Website
• "And IMAX" which is a reference to the formate.

• Reference to awards 
• Slower editing compared to TV spots
• Production company
•  Director name
• Tag line 
• Minor back story being shown
• A number of pieces of music, split into different segments
• Title of film
• Release date 
• Billing
